The PDSA in South East London are currently looking to recruit a Senior Veterinary Surgeon on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave.
Ideally fulltime 37.5 hours per week but they are open to discussing flexible or part time working patterns for the right candidate.
This is a maternity cover role. As Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing the clinical team, all aspects of clinical governance, managing income and clinical expenditure and ensuring their charitable resources are used as effectively as possible. Previous practice and people management is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided with mentoring from an Area Veterinary Manager.
They currently have 6 experienced vets and 7 experienced nurses, as well as veterinary care assistants and receptionists. They have digital x-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedic surgical equipment, on site blood analysis, piped gases and endoscopy. The hospital is 5 minutes walk from Abbey Wood station which is 20 minutes from central London, and they have on site parking. The Senior Vets are not expected to take part in the weekend rota on a regular basis, and we have no other OOH commitments.
Salary range is £65,616 - £70,955 per annum.
