An independent S/A & exotics practice with an accredited RCVS hospital and 3 branches is looking to recruit a permanent member of staff and also a Locum Vet to start in May:
Locum Vet
Small Animal Vet needed between 4th May - 30th September. Primarily consulting in their hospital and assisting with in house emergency service. shifts are 8 to 5pm and 9am to 6pm, unless on-call, as noted below:
OOH rota which is over a period (usually 7 to 9 weeks) -
1. Mon & Tues on call from 2pm each day until 8am the next morning and off Wednesday
2. Wed & Thurs on call from 2pm each day until 8am the next morning and off Friday
3. Weekend on call Fri/Sat/Sun from 2pm until 9am each day off on the Monday
4. Saturday morning 9am until 2pm
Accommodation can be provided on-site if needed (no pets allowed).
Permanent Vet
The current practice team is made up of 14 vets. They have a supportive team that works hard and socialises together, there is a healthy mix of newly qualified vets and highly experienced vets.
For an experienced veterinary surgeon, they offer the opportunity to expand surgical experience through a busy and varied surgical list, gain sole charge experience at branch level, further enhance medical knowledge via our busy hospital ward and in-house emergency service. We are fully supportive further training ambitions and certificates are encouraged.
Their team contains multiple certificate holders, both vets and nurses. In addition, they collaborate with visiting specialists in cardiology and ophthalmology. As a result, they are very fortunate not to refer many cases and to provide a full and varied in-house service.
