Lacey's client are a fantastic independent small animal practice in the heart of the Chiltern Hills. They are currently on the look out for a new Vet Surgeon to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
With a main branch, new Hospital site (opened in 2023) and three smaller satellite branches they cover a wide range of clients in the Buckinghamshire region. Offering services from first opinion general practice consults, routine ops, in-patient care and more advanced procedures within their well equipped Hospital. They see a large and diverse caseload of patients.
The practice has extensive facilities and equipment including multiple consult rooms across all branches, and the main Hospital includes a surgery suite with dedicated orthopaedic theatre, dental suite (including restorative dentistry), DR x-ray, top-level cardiology and ultrasound equipment, endoscopy, separate dog, cat and exotic wards, etc. They use the familiar RxWorks computer system throughout their practices.
They currently have a large friendly team of 18 vets, 10 RVNs, 6 SVNs, 1 Practice Manager and a dedicated reception/client care team, all with a wealth of experience to share. They are open to all levels of experience, and can even support and mentor a more recent graduate within their supportive team.
With a number of certificate holders (and those working towards) in their midst, they are very open and actively encourage further studies and certificates with support and funding.
The role:
Full Time – 4 days per week – same day off every week
No out-of-hours (except in-patient care) – 1;8 rota (1 weeknight every 2 weeks). 1 check per evening and rest of time can be spent at home.
Additional pay for any inpatient duties
VetsNow take phones after 7pm
Weekends on a rolling 12 week rota. 1 x full weekend, 1 x ½ weekend, 2 x Sat mornings, and 8 weekends off!
Shifts between 8am – 7pm (consults start at 8.30am, with latest being 6.30pm – 1-2 hour consulting blocks throughout the day with ample breaks)
Min of 2 operating days per week
Bank Holiday rota with TOIL
Branch work as part of the rota, although starting at main Hospital and largest branch initially.
What’s on offer:
Salary DOE (discussed at interview)
Inpatient OOHs pay, including a % of any work done – increasing Salary by £3000-6000 per year
5 weeks annual holiday plus bank holidays (with option of longer holidays being taken with approved unpaid leave)
Everyone given a block of time off over Christmas and New Year depending on how the holiday falls.
5 days CPD and £2000 funding
Accommodation Available on request if available.
