Lacey's client are a reputable Small Animal and Equine Hospital in Buckinghamshire, and recruiting for a permanent Equine vet but in the meantime need locum cover:
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE - EQUINE
• ASAP ongoing, or blocks of cover considered
• Mostly Ambulatory work (within 30 mins of practice) but also will be required to work in a clinic environment
• Full-time - 5 days, 8.30am to 6.00pm
• 1:4 nights OOHs and weekend rota with TOIL. (on call from home so do not have to stay on site and phone calls are taken by a receptionist).
• They can provide a vehicle for business use and can organise accommodation if needed also.
The equine vet team is supported by 3 experienced RVNs and a clinical groom plus an equine coordinator and a practice manager. The equine unit is joined to a large, bustling small animal practice encouraging a fun sociable team of all specialties (15 vets and 19 nurses) supporting each other.
They are BEVA accredited for stud work, have an equine clinic with inpatient facilities and an operating theatre. Visiting surgeons come in to carry out the more complex procedures and they refer abdominal surgeries. The majority of the horses seen are leisure/competition horses with an increasing geriatric population and a few clients with donkeys, all of whose owners appreciate a practice which is happy to discuss every treatment option.
