Lacey’s client is on the lookout for a Head Vet to lead their team in East London!

• Head Veterinary Surgeon role
• Salary of £75,000-£90,000 (DOE)
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• 1 in 4 weekends required
• No OOHs but on-call availability required for overnight inpatients.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead the ongoing enhancement of the practice’s clinical standards and services, wile empowering colleagues with skills needed to help achieve the goal of becoming a centre of clinical excellence.

As Head Vet will play a key role within the surgery’s management team. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise and a passion for delivering exceptional care. The ideal candidate will be confident in a leadership role, with the vision and drive to implement strategic goals, while coaching and inspiring the wider team to consistently deliver gold-standard, evidence-based care.
The required working pattern is four days per week, including participation in a 1:4 weekend rota. While there are no out-of-hours duties, on-call availability is required for overnight inpatients.

The current team consists of a Senior Vet, four Veterinary Surgeons, and six Registered Veterinary Nurses. Clinical interests within the team include orthopaedics, exotic pet care, and BOAS surgery. With an even dog and cat client split, this role presents an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in feline medicine. Ongoing clinical development is actively encouraged, with regular CPD across all roles to support skills growth.
