Job Ref:

SV251650
We work closely with the PDSA and one of their pet hospitals in the West Midlands is seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join them for a part-time position!
• Part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Salary £26,655 - £31,027 per annum pro rata
• 15 hours per week
• Flexible working options available regarding hours and shifts!
The PDSA is a unique organisation providing expert veterinary care to people across the UK who may otherwise be unable to afford treatment for their pets. The work carried out by PDSA truly makes a difference.
The organisation combines pragmatism with a strong client-care focus to deliver excellent clinical outcomes, measuring success by impact rather than targets.
Staff wellbeing is a priority, and PDSA offers a supportive and engaging working environment. Team members have access to expert advice and resources to help them succeed in their roles.
One of their Hospitals in the West Midlands is seeking a RVN who is adaptable and ready for the wide variety of cases seen at the PDSA. The role involves consultations, inpatient care, dispensing medications, and assisting in theatre, including schedule 3 surgery.
The successful candidate will demonstrate confidence in communicating with a wide range of colleagues and clients, sharing skills, and leading by example. A passion for the charity’s mission, promoting client contributions, and suggesting efficiencies will be valued highly.
As the role can be fast-paced and challenging, PDSA is committed to supporting a work-life balance that meets both personal and organisational needs. Flexible working options are available.
The PDSA Hospitals are modern and well-equipped, typically featuring separate dog and cat kennelling facilities, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and extensive orthopaedic equipment.
Veterinary teams consist of members with varied clinical interests, providing a wide pool of knowledge and experience for case discussions and treatment planning. The size of the team also allows for a flexible approach to weekend rotas and any out-of-hours requirements, with enhanced pay and stand-down time during the week following weekend shifts.
In addition to a supportive workplace, the organisation offers a wide range of benefits, including:
• Remote and flexible working options
• CPD Allowance of one week and £500 per year
• Full RCVS fees covered
• A range of internal CPD programmes and discounts for BSAVA Congress and London Vet Show
• 25 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays) with the option to buy and sell up to 5 days per year
• An additional Wellbeing Day to recharge
• Generous Auto-Enrolment pension and/or Contributory pension schemes (starting at 5% contributions, rising to 10%)
• Life Assurance policy (4x annual salary)
• Employee Assistance Programme and 24/7 Online Wellbeing Centre for confidential professional support
• Wide range of discounts on retail, holidays, and more!
