An exciting opportunity for a RVN to work overseas! Emillies client is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them at their animal hospital in Kuwait.
• Salary 1400 KWD pcm (min)
• Up to 48 hours per week
• No Night call
• CPD encouraged and supported
• Tax Free
The ideal candidate will have a recognised veterinary nursing qualification (e.g. RCVS-approved diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing) and a minimum of 3 years postgraduate employment in the veterinary field. You must be able to demonstrate competence in inpatient care, anaesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance. You will be responsible for handling cats, dogs and companion animals.
Proficiency in English is required; you must either be a native speaker or have a minimum IELTS 6 or TOEFL 78-95 (or equivalent demonstrated in interviews). Communication skills are important at the practice, therefore you must demonstrate a strong ability to communicate effectively with veterinary team members and pet owners. It is important that you are confident in explaining clinical procedures and providing compassionate client education.
You must be competent in routine nursing procedures including IV catheter placement, blood sampling, laboratory diagnostics, patient monitoring, and medication administration and maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control, and clinical safety.
As you will be working overseas, you must be understanding and respectful towards local cultural norms and sensitivities, with the additional ability to navigate multicultural client interaction with professionalism. You must be compassionate and take on a patient-centred approach with empathy for both animals and their owners.
Additional attributes desired (but not required):
• Advanced certifications in anaesthesia, emergency care, or dental nursing.
• NAVLE, VTS, or equivalent accreditations.
• Previous international or multicultural work experience.
• Special interest in rehabilitation, behaviour, exotics, or nutrition.
• Ability to assist in staff training and mentoring of junior nursing staff or students.
• Knowledge of Arabic or additional languages.
• Confident handling of exotic or unusual species is an asset.
