Our client in West Yorkshire is seeking a new, permanent part-time, OOHs Veterinary Surgeon to work at their advanced 24/7 Hospital.
• OOHs ECC Veterinary Surgeon
• Salary of £55-£60k, depending on experience.
• 7 nights on, 14 nights off!
• Shifts are 8pm-8am
• Working alongside OOH staff (RVN & VCA)
• Happy to support Vet who wishes to Locum elsewhere during their 14 days off.
Their reception is open until 10pm, with an additional twilight RVN supporting until 12pm, along with their OOHs RVN and VCA. Surgical, Medicine, Dentistry Certificate holder in-house support. Their current team consist of 70 members, 15 of them being Vets.

Transfusion Medicine
Lipids
Digital Xray, advanced ultrasound with doppler (visiting CT scan for follow-up investigations)
Flexible video gastroscope, bronchoscope
Video Otoscope and Rigid scope
Dental Xray with CR7 Developer
Multiparameter monitors inc ECG/Cap/Temp/Sp02/BP
Doppler BP
ECG
Gen11 vessel sealing
Valleylab monopolar/bipolar, Ligaclips
E20 sterilisation
As an advanced practice they expect their night team to be able to deliver (with support and training):
Oesophageal tube placements
Seldinger Chest Drain placements
Silicone Abdominal Peritoneal Drains
Pig tail urinary catheters
TFAST AFAST
Endoscoscopy
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
Urinary Catheterisation
The night team will regularly perform caesareans, pyometra, exploratory laparotomy with enterotomy and enterectomy. On the medicine side they see many Addisonian, Ketoacidotic diabetic cases and sever pancreatitis cases.
Additional benefits to working at this practice include £1,500 Annual CPD allowance, Certificate sponsorship encouragement and satisfaction of being part of a proactive in-house CPD/Clinical development veterinary team.
