A friendly and accommodation practice in Somerset are looking for an experienced locum vet to join their passionate team until 31st July (approximately 6 months).
They would prefer one locum to cover the whole period, but appreciate this may not be possible.
My client would prefer someone who has accommodation locally if possible and someone with a minimum of 12 months UK experience. They are looking for someone who is self sufficient and confident in surgery and OOH on their own.
They're a lovely practice and have a low turnover of staff and a considerable number of their staff have been with them for 5+ years (several staff have left and then come back again!).
From a rota point of view, the vets work a 4 ½ day week including days worked at a weekend.
Weekend rota is 1 in 5 weekends, with a weekend being from 8.00 Saturday morning until 8.00am Monday morning.
When a vet works a weekend, they have the Wednesday off before the weekend and the Monday afternoon and Friday off following the weekend. Apart from in exceptional circumstances, there are no other night duties before or after a weekend on duty.
All vets have at least half a day off per week but it may be possible to have a whole day off each week.
Week nights Monday to Thursday are on a 1:8 shared rota.
Friday night duties are tied in to our branch surgery Saturday morning surgery (9-12) and is a 1 in 12 rota.
