Job Ref:

SV251595
We work Closely with the PDSA, a unique charity who deliver expert veterinary care to individuals across the UK who may not otherwise be able to afford treatment for their pets. Would you like your work to involve making a meaningful difference? This might be the role for you.
• Bank Veterinary Surgeon
• Salary: £61.88 per hour
• Zero hours contract
Due to fluctuating service demands, PDSA is seeking qualified vet surgeons who are interested in flexible working arrangements (Bank Vets). This opportunity may appeal to those only able to commit short term or to occasional shifts due to other responsibilities. The charity is open to working with individuals on an ad hoc basis that suits their availability.
The role offers a diverse mix of diagnostic, surgical, and consultation work, while allowing full control over working hours.
PDSA’s hospital teams possess a wide range of clinical expertise, providing a collaborative environment where case discussions and treatment planning benefit from a shared knowledge base.
The Pet Hospitals are modern and well-equipped, featuring separate dog and cat kennelling areas, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and a comprehensive range of orthopaedic equipment. The size and structure of the teams enable a flexible approach to weekend rotas and out-of-hours shifts, with enhanced pay and compensatory time off during the week for any weekend work undertaken.
PDSA is committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion that reflects the communities it serves. The organisation strives to create a workplace where every individual can utilise their skills in a supportive, non-discriminatory environment. Decisions are based solely on merit. A variety of family-friendly and inclusive employment policies, as well as flexible working arrangements, are available to support team members from all backgrounds.
For any questions or concerns about accessibility, PDSA encourages potential applicants to get in touch via email or phone to discuss any reasonable adjustments that may be required during the recruitment process.
PDSA is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, vulnerable adults, and all colleagues. All those working with the charity are expected to uphold these values and treat others with courtesy and respect.
