• Full-time Vet Surgeon
• Salary £43,088-£57,169 per annum (FTE)
• 37.5 hours per week (or part-time options)
• Remote and Flexible working options available
• No on-call or OOHs
They are looking for a qualified vet who enjoys working a wide variety of cases and wants every day to be interesting, whilst making a difference to peoples lives. Most of their patients are sick or injured, though they do provide preventative services too. Most of their caseload are not insured so they routinely treat more complex medical or surgical conditions. When working at the PDSA your development will be prioritised, they wish to develop your clinical skills wherever you are in your career! This allows the team to deliver excellent service. Their vets benefit from the shared learning, confidence building and the enjoyment that good teamwork brings. With double consult rooms for a more enjoyable and supportive experience when consulting.
The practice is modern and well-equipped, including separate dog and cat kennelling facilities, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment. Due to their large combined hospital teams, they can take a flexible approach to weekend rotas, with day times shared by their vets on a rota basis. This includes enhanced pay and stand down time in the week when a weekend day is worked, on average the vets work 1 in 8 weekends. There is no on-call required and their out-of-hours service is covered by a separate provider from 7pm (and 6pm on weekends). The practice is close to the city centre, walking distance from the train stations, and have staff parking on site. The practice also has a spacious staff room and a green outdoor area where you can enjoy breaks and lunches on less rainy days.
