Birmingham Dogs Home are looking to recruit a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to start ASAP but will consider an ongoing locum vet in the meantime:
** Currently operating 30 hours per week
** 3 days (8am-6pm)
** No weekends
** No OOH's
The Vet Clinic is superbly equipped and has a theatre, prep room, 3 consult rooms, cat recovery ward, dog recovery ward, x-ray room with digital x-ray equipment), a dental room with digital x-ray equipment, a dedicated reception area, laundry/autoclave room and a vet office.
They have a superb environment and culture to work within and their pay packages are generous for the right candidate. This recruitment is replacing their current Lead Veterinary Surgeon who helped to establish the facility as a project role. Their other Veterinary Surgeon is circa 4 years post-graduation so they are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who can support and develop the team as a whole.
They currently have two teams based in Birmingham and Wolverhampton (one vet, one RVN per team), working Monday to Friday one team works Monday to Wednesday and the other Wednesday to Friday. With expansion of the client base, it is expected that they will require a third team (Veterinary Surgeon and RVN) to join the team to provide sufficient and flexible capacity.
The Vet Clinic @ Birmingham Dogs Home currently provides veterinary services for all of the dogs in the care of the Charity (approximately 135) from two rehoming centres - Birmingham, in Solihull and Wolverhampton in Coven. They intent to establish a limited external client base in the future which will be a mix of their adopted dogs and those in the local community with pets such as dogs, cats and small furries.
